What can make us change behaviors?
We talk to Source - in prayer, meditation or in a break in everyday life. Help me to change my behavior and is there no answer immediately cry out more loud HELP!
We begin to meditate to find inner peace and stillness. We do other things that raise our vibration so that our perspective changes.
We see what consequences our behavior has in the short term and in the long ter. This raises the perspective.
We begin to observe our own thought, feelings and behaviors. Write them down, paint or express them in antother way. We become an observer of ourselves.
We find out what experiences we had before the age of 7. Did something traumatic or difficult happen that went on almost daily?
We reveal our beliefs that we took with us because of these experiences. In this way we can also change them.
We make emotional contact with our inner child who then gets an opportunity to express his feelings.
We choose to do what makes us feel good! We fill our bodies with what feels good. Enfironment, activities and people that strengthen and replenish. Do what the heart longs for!
Why do we escape into addictions and abuse?
What is an addiction or abuse? Here are some common examples; sugar, food, exercise, nicotine, coffee, drugs, alcohol, sex, work, gambling, shopping, TV-computer-phone, cleaning, compulsion. The same behaviors can be something we enjoy very much. Is it an addiction or something good? Only you know!
What is the reason for this? It may be that we want to escape a very unpleasant everyday life where bills are high, our partner does not feel available, the load is too great or something else where we cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel. Life feels meaningless!
However, my experience is that we want to avoid pain of unpleasant childhood experiences. It may be something we do not remember and we therefore also unconsciously run away from it. Getting to the root cause of the addiction is important. It not only enables a change but also a deeper transformation.
